The Department of Advanced Brain Research, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Tokushima University and Beauty Life Corporation were awarded the 4th Healthy Aging Prize for Asian Innovation in 2024 for their achievements in the online salon "Rikaba" for the general elderly, mainly Parkinson's disease patients, and the online program "Exapo" for nursing facilities, which they jointly operate mainly in Tokushima Prefecture. The awards ceremony was held at the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, Thailand on January 31st, 2025 local time.
This international award was established in 2020 by the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE) and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) to recognize initiatives that contribute to achieving healthy longevity and improving elderly care in the rapidly aging Asian region. This year, seven organizations from 12 Asian countries were awarded the prize. The award-winning initiative by the Department of Advanced Brain Research, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Tokushima University and Beauty Life Corporation passed rigorous domestic selection and was highly praised in the international selection for its unique concept of "balancing the gut, brain and muscles."
